Sixteen members of Squadron 50 spent the night aboard the World War II aircraft carrier USS Hornet. Members performed community service by helping keep the ship safe and sanitary. They slept in original crew quarters, ate meals in the crew’s mess hall, received private tours, and even heard ghost stories told by members of her crew.
Squadron 50 will once again be hosting the annual USS Hornet Overnight on August 6th. Participants will live aboard the historic World War II aircraft carrier, sleeping in original crew quarters, eating in the mess hall, taking private guided tours, exploring the ship on our own, listening to ghost stories about the ship,
Our annual pilgrimage to the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery to lay wreaths on the graves and participate in the memorial service. Cadets needed for the color guard detail that posts the colors as well as all members and their families to participate in the ceremonial laying of the wreaths.
