Squadron 50 Change of Command

Squadron 50 will be performing a Change of Command ceremony on February 8th at 6:30pm. Local officials, VIP’s, special guests, friends, and family are invited to attend this time-honored tradition of the transition of command. The ceremony only lasts about 15 minutes and there will be a receiving line and reception following the event. The event will be hosted at the Commemorative Air Force hangar located at the Modesto Airport. When looking for directions, use 790 Tioga Dr in Google Maps to find the correct location.

After more than 4 years as commander, Major Domke will be stepping down. Major Domke has been with CAP for over 17 years and served in several previous roles such as a Cadet Commander, Wing Public Affairs Officer, and Deputy Commander for Cadets. He will be taking on the new role as Deputy Commander for Seniors among others. Maj Domke also serves in other roles in both Group 6 and California Wing and looks forward to many more years in CAP and hopefully a higher command role in the future.

Taking over as Squadron Commander is First Lieutenant Dwight Kuesthardt. Lt Kuesthardt has been with the Civil Air Patrol since 2015 and currently serves as the Deputy Commander for Cadets, Logistics Officer, Safety Officer, and more.

We look forward to seeing you at our ceremony and invite you to stay for the receiving line and reception hosted in the CAF classroom adjacent to the hangar.
